California community colleges are expanding their degree offerings with the introduction of several new bachelor’s degrees. This initiative, known as the California Community Colleges Baccalaureate Degree Pilot Program, aims to provide students with more affordable options for obtaining a bachelor’s degree.
The program was established in 2014 by the California legislature in response to the increasing demand for bachelor’s degrees in certain fields, such as healthcare, technology, and public safety. Prior to the program, community colleges in California only offered associate degrees and certificate programs.
