Q: What does a Student Success Champion do?

A: As a Student Success Champion, my role is to support students in achieving their academic and personal goals. I work closely with students to identify any challenges they may be facing and provide resources and support to help them overcome those obstacles. I also help students develop important skills such as time management, study habits, and goal setting.

Q: How do you empower students at UDC?

A: I empower students by helping them build confidence in their abilities and encouraging them to take ownership of their education. I work with students to set realistic goals and create a plan to achieve them. I also connect students with campus resources such as tutoring services, advising, and career services to help them succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Q: What advice do you have for students who are struggling academically?

A: My advice for students who are struggling academically is to reach out for help. It’s important to remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. I encourage students to talk to their professors, academic advisors, or Student Success Champions like myself to find the support they need. It’s also important for students to take care of their mental and physical health, as those are key factors in academic success.

Q: What do you love most about being a Student Success Champion?

A: What I love most about being a Student Success Champion is seeing the transformation in students as they grow and succeed. It’s incredibly rewarding to be able to support and empower students to reach their full potential. I am passionate about helping students overcome challenges and achieve their goals, and being able to witness their success is truly fulfilling.
